It was shipped in a box that seemed intended to sit on a warehouse shelf. Thin cardboard with several holes in it by the time it reached me. Luckily only a very small dent on one of the towers so I was okay with it.With that said, a very nice setup especially considering the price. I'm powering them with a Marantz SR7200, but I've only got a 75W RMS 8" sub paired with them so the bottom end is boomy and weak - not the fault of the speaker setup but they will expose a poor quality subwoofer when the signal moves to it. Love the mellow smooth treble. I'm very picky about bright speakers and the soft dome tweeters do not disappoint. I can listen to these speakers for hours playing anything from Korn to Bela Fleck, with no fatigue. Nice imaging and clarity. Run them with the EQ flat and they sing. Compared the satellites to Energy Take2 satellites and it was no contest. You should not pass on these speakers. You will not approach the... They are amazingly flat from 45Hz and up. They drop off lower than 45Hz and are inaudible beyond 40Hz. That said, many subs that come with HTiB systems don't even get that far. The towers are truly left or right because the 8" sub fires on different sides. These have dual 5-Way binding posts that are solid metal and fully gold plated. That is a feature I don't think I have ever seen in this price bracket. The sound clean and very transparent. They reproduce just about everything I can put to them with stunning accuracy. The included spikes are wonderful; another thing these have that its competitors don't. The look is sleek and sexy with a very nice minimalist approach.
