VERY loud. It starts up every few seconds, runs for a few seconds, stops and kicks in again. At the same time, the processor kicks into TurboBoost. These problems occur with no applications running. I downloaded all of the updates from Dell and flashed the BIOS which did not solve the problem. The noise was so irritating that I decided to return this machine in spite of all of the wonderful features it offered. Other users report the same problem.
